After graduating from Rutledge High School, I knew I wanted to go to college.  What I didn't know was what I wanted to major in.  After going to Walters State for a couple of semesters, I decided to get my degree in Office Administration and work at Walters State.  I worked in an office for the instructors of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Walters State Community College for 12 years.  Working with the college students and working with the college professors were my favorite parts of my job.  In the Fall of 2007, I went back to weekend college at Tusculum College and become a teacher.

I student taught in 2nd grade and 6th grade and immediately fell in love with 2nd grade.  I was placed in 2nd grade where I taught for 3 full years.  My favorite part of teaching was always working with students one on one and watching them become better readers and writers.  In 2012, I took a job as ESL specialist and work directly with ESL students.  My goal in teaching is to help as many students as possible see their full learning potential and become successful.

I was born in Dayton, OH but could never imagine not living in East Tennessee.  I have been married to my husband for 18 years.  We have 2 sons and live in Bean Station.  We attend Adriel Baptist Church.
